Description:

11th Birmingham Scout Group in Nechells offer young people and adults Skills for life. Each week our young people enjoy fun, friendship and outdoor adventure. They develop a sense of optimism and strong values as well as the leadership and teamwork skills that are more valuable today than ever.
Skills for Life is a strategy that supports and empowers our volunteers who are the people that make Scouts a reality. It’s a strategy to bring communities together and contribute towards a better society. But most of all, it’s a strategy for young people. They deserve the best skills, the best support, and the best possible futures.
At 211th Birmingham Scouts our Young people, both Girls and Boys are aged between 5 3/4 to 18.
Beaver Scouts (ages 5 3/4 to 8) have a wonderful time enjoying games, storytelling making things, outdoor activities, singing, playing games, going out on visits, investigating nature, listening to stories, learning how to be safe, trying new things and most importantly, making NEW FRIENDS!
Cub Scouts are aged 8 to 10.5 and our Pack have a wonderful time enjoying games indoors and out, try a wide range of different activities as well as going on trips, days out. Learning about life skills, investigating nature, enjoying making new friends and of course Camping!
Scouts are aged 10.5 to 14 and our diverse Unit are enjoying time to focusing on badge work, challenging themselves to help one another and others, learning new skills. Day trips out learning Scouting skills (our Scouts would try to put Bear Grylls to shame!) Camping, survival and cooking, as well as a wider spectrum of adventurous activities, from abseiling to zorbing.
In all sections we offer a number of badges and awards that our young people can gain to recognise their achievements.
These opportunities are only available due to the amazing volunteers we have and are continually looking at growing the team so that more young people, from a wider range of backgrounds, gain the skills they need to succeed in life. The skills they need to be happy, resilient and active citizens and leaders, and make a positive impact in our community and wider society.
Volunteer with us.
Put your skills to use, learn new ones, and contribute to an amazing life-experience for you and our local community.
Volunteering is easier than you think. With full support and training, you can volunteer on a flexible basis.
